I finally finished my Animoto project. The Civil War is a really big unit in our school, and we take it very seriously. Our goal is to help students understand to the best of their ability what life was like as a Civil War solider. It will be great to show them this video as a preview to all the information that they learn.
In the process of creating this video, I found a few sites with great pictures of the war and used Diigo to help me keep the sites organized. It actually worked out really well!

Wow, this must have taken you quite a bit of time. First, you needed to get organized with the point you wanted to make, then had to find the pictures, organize them into the storyboard, add the music and texts, and so on. Diigo must have been a big help for saving what you needed. Where did you find the music? You will need to tell us how your students react. Do you mind if I post this to Twitter as an example of an excellent Animoto for engaging students in understanding the life of Civil War soldiers? Other teachers should see this.

ReplyDeleteI love this! The kids are going to love it! Is this tool (Diigo) something the students could use easily? I would love to see them make one of the encampment and play it with this one (maybe add slides of the encampment amongst these to show how the students experienced some of these things).
